June 2008 to present: St. Joseph's Healthcare Foundation
St. Joseph's Healthcare Foundation is known for building lasting, mutually rewarding partnerships that enable St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton, a multi-campus, teaching hospital, to provide the best in compassionate patient care and innovative medical research. For the past 40 years, the Foundation has reached out to the community for donations, big and small, to assist with capital improvements, research funding, academic infrastructure and equipment renewals and enhancements. Since 1970, the Foundation has raised more than $119 million for St. Joseph's, which has emerged as one of Canada's leading health science centres.
Since 2008 Ted Stayshyn has been to serve as a Member of Board of Directors for the St. Joseph's Healthcare Foundation. In addition to serving on the board he is also Vice Chair of the Governance Committee.
August 2012: Free Helmet Giveaway
In August 2012, we worked together with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hamilton and Burlington and hosted a free helmet giveaway for children of all ages. This event also included a barbeque and was hosted in the parking lot of our Hamilton office.
We assisted, in cooperation with the City of Hamilton Public Health and Safety Department, in properly sizing and fitting children with the correct multi-sport helmet for bike riding, skate boarding and other summer activities. The event also included safety demonstrations for the children and their parents, and a draw for two new bikes.
Stayshyn Law Offices is very committed to not only funding these types of initiatives, but also in providing the time of our staff and lawyers to help make these events educational and successful.
